Albany Municipal Auditorium

Applauded now as the best auditorium performance space south of Macon, the Albany Municipal Auditorium went from pigeon-roost to show-stopper.

Once the home of Chautauqua performances and renowned artists, the Albany Municipal Auditorium in downtown had fallen into disrepair by the time Maschke Associates was selected to restore the grand old lady. The 20,000-square-foot project involved the total ground-up restoration of the historic downtown auditorium with seating for 963. The architect paid special attention to detailing, handicap accessibility and site development. Auditorium restoration included acoustical design and materials, new seating and all new interior finishes, exterior masonry was repointed and bricks relaid as required to reestablish wall integrity and historical accuracy.
