Dougherty County School System Administration Building

The Dougherty County School System Administration Building is an instance of textbook quality and distinction.

The 27,000-square-foot, three-story building was constructed as the first new anchor building on downtown Albany’s Central Square Block and houses the administrative offices and board room for the Dougherty County School System. It incorporates eye-catching brick veneer over concrete structural frame and floor slabs and includes a sculptural “little red school-house” brick entrance feature. Use of energy efficient windows, glazing systems, skylights and multistory lobby serve to make the building a downtown landmark while providing highly functional space in a compact yet distinctive building. Further, the structure was also designed to accommodate a future fourth floor addition.
